Are your laces tied and ready to go? Kiawah Island’s iconic race returns again this winter! This year marks the 46th Annual Kiawah Island Marathon, and our community is ready and raring to go. Whether you are an avid runner or simply looking to immerse yourself in the Lowcountry community, you won’t want to miss this must-attend event in the Charleston area.
Choose Your Course on the Course
Hosted by Kiawah Island Golf Resort, this year’s marathon and half-marathon courses begin and end in West Beach Village. Participating racers are in for a treat as they soak up the Lowcountry's beautiful scenery, passing the marshes, forests and island architecture of this beautiful community.
The Kiawah Island Marathon and Half-Marathon racers are split into age groups, with a minimum racer age of 14 and 18 for the half and full-marathon, respectively. The groups for men and women are as follows:
- 18-24
- 25-29
- 30-34
- 35-39
- 40-44
- 45-49
- 50-54
- 55-59
- 60-64
- 65-69
- 70-74
- 75+

This 2024 marathon will be held on Dec. 14, 2024, with a prompt race start of 8 a.m. Spots are limited for this popular event, and registration will close as soon as capacity is reached.
