Description

Welcome to Kings Island on Kiawah! This striking home boasts four master bedrooms and is just a quarter of a mile away from our sugar-sand Carolina beaches. You'll find tall ceilings, fine fixtures, and plenty of space for the entire family here. Check out the newly installed pool!

Upon entering the home you'll be greeted by a grand staircase. On the first level there is the open living area with floor-to-ceiling windows. This space leads into the sweeping kitchen, with a breakfast table, TV, and it's own lounge area with sofa. Next you'll find the formal dining area with seating for eight! 

Our first master suite can be found just off of the living room, with a king bed and access to the back porch. The large master en-suite hosts a soaking tub, double vanities, and a shower. Take the grand staircase in the foyer to the second level, where the next two bedrooms reside. A bedroom with a queen bed and a bedroom with two twins are separated by the landing area, each with their own respective private full bathrooms! The final bedroom is a very private loft-style room above the garage. It has its own living area and bathroom, a TV, and a king size bed. 

The beautiful lagoon in the back offers stunning sunset views from the porch area. Grill out or enjoy a glass of wine after a long day at the beach! Or just observe our plentiful nature and wildlife. Whether you came for an island adventure, lazy beach days, wildlife watching, or just a few days of solace - this is the perfect vacation home for you. And we can't wait to host you!

Stayed a few nights with a couple of friends. What a lovely little trip we had! The home was larger than we needed for just the three of us, but nice to spread out and each of us have our own space. Walking to the beach was quite nice as the nature trail is not far from the home and takes you right to the beach! The highlight for us was the heated pool. It was quite chilly during our stay, and having the heated pool provided a relaxing way to enjoy the natural surroundings during sunny days/starry nights. Overall, would definitely book again. The Sweetgrass Team is the best!!

Very well maintained home with plenty of space. We spent most of our time on the back deck which had a perfect sized pool and views of the golf course. We loved how convenient it was to get to and from the beach. This is a great community with lots to do - pickleball, biking, walking, golf! Highly recommend this home in Kiawah!

Our thanks to the homeowners, property managers, service providers and Sweetgrass for such a wonderful stay! We were blown away by the quality of service, and responsiveness to even the simplest of our requests. A few tips for Kiawah first-timers since it was the first-time for our family of 6 (2 adults, 2 kids, and 2 grandparents): 1. Renting bikes from Alligator bikes using the 10% Sweetgrass discount worked really well for us since they were waiting for us when we arrived and were picked up after we left. Be sure to request the free baskets for all bikes and a paid trailer for one. Since the beach is a 5-minute ride away, one of us would carry all the beach gear in the trailer tied up with a bungy cord. 2. Freshfields Village is at the entrance to the island so be sure to stop by and pick up groceries on your way to the house, at least for the first day's dinner and next day's breakfast. It is about a 15 minute drive away and almost all the restaurants on the island are clustered there so you will likely end up going there a few times to dine and restock groceries. 3. We have a 10-year old son who does not like to chill on the beach so we would dump him in the bike trailer every morning and ride him to Camp Xtreme at Night Heron Park in 15 minutes where he had a lot of fun with other kids all day, while the rest of us had a lot of fun on the beach. Camp started at 8:30 AM and ended at 4 PM and they provide lunch as well. It cost us $144 per day ($120 camp fee + $24 tip). And we would ride him back after camp as well. 4. We rented kayaks one day from St Johns Kayaks & Boat Tours since they were located closest to the island entrance. It was $65 per kayak. We also chartered a boat one day for $400 from Tidal Trails for tubing and water skiing. $400 buys 2 hours and then they charge $175 per hour after that. 5. Kiawah is a private island where a lot of wealthy people have their holiday homes, so everything is very nicely manicured, clean and safe. All wildlife (including alligators) are protected so don't expect to have them moved if you encounter any on the island. There is a lot of pristine nature, which includes bugs, so do not forget to bring bug spray if you are going to be spending a lot of time outdoors. And since it is a private island, there are literally no businesses of any kind on the beachfront, including no bars, so bring a cooler for your drinks (easy to haul on your bike trailer). Beautiful and spacious home. Lovely, peaceful views from the back patio and pool. Clean and well-furnished. The short walk to the beach was great. Two things for improvement: There is a grill, but it is in pretty rough shape and for the cost of rental, including a week’s worth of toilet paper would be much appreciated - seems like this is one thing that’s not expensive, but essential.

Lovely home, perfectly located on island! Easy walk or bike around corner to beach on bike path. Pool is a wonderful way to come back and end the day! The setup was perfect for or family, offered plenty of space for us. It was important for us to find a home with a pool, close to beach and dog friendly, this house checked all the boxes! We have spent a lot of time on Kiawah and would rent this home again!

The overall commitment of your staff from Crystal and Drew to making things right during my stay was commendable. Things sometimes are out of the control of all of us at times but the quick resolution of issues by your team was beyond appreciated. I am grateful for all of the attention to detail and personalized service and commitment to making my stay comfortable and enjoyable. We will definitely be renting again. Thank you!

Absolutely loved our stay! The location was perfect, just steps away from the beach. The rental was immaculate, beautifully furnished, and had everything we needed. This property itself is a hidden gem. The moment we stepped inside, we were greeted by a beautifully decorated and meticulously maintained interior. The furnishings were stylish, comfortable, and exuded a cozy beachy vibe. The entire place felt like a true home away from home. The open floor plan allowed for plenty of space for our group to relax and unwind. We particularly loved the well-equipped kitchen, which made cooking a breeze. The bedrooms were spacious with comfortable beds that ensured a restful night's sleep for everyone.

What a beautiful home! Each bedroom with a private bathroom is the perfect setup for any group. You can tell this home has been recently updated, so clean and comfortable. The brand new pool is amazing! The perfect way to cap off a full day of golf or beach…and the beach is such an easy walk or bike ride away. The backyard view of the pond and golf course is quintessential Kiawah. We would definitely stay at 221 Kings Island when visiting Kiawah. The perfect combo!

This was our second time staying at this house and it was fantastic once again. The house is beautiful inside and out, it is in a perfect location with a pond and golf course view right out back. The pool will add a whole new element to the house, and with all the beds and nice open kitchen and living room, you’ll never want to leave. The island is truly special and there is nothing else like it, it is incredibly safe and peaceful, there’s ton of wildlife to be seen all over the place, and every home in the island is beautiful. We cannot wait to visit this house again!
