Nestled in the West Beach area of Kiawah Island, 397 Green Winged Teal is a wonderful, family-friendly 5 bedroom home. It is the perfect island location and sits just minutes from the beach with a bike/walking trail accessible directly behind the home. 

The home has everything you need for an ideal vacation with family or friends. The open concept floorplan gives ample space to play, relax, cook, or conversate. The living room is open to the kitchen and dining area and has direct access to the back deck. The kitchen is fully equipped and has everything you need to prepare a delicious meal. The large center island is perfect for entertaining and has 6 bar stools for additional seating. The dining area comfortably seats 10 guests for dinner and also accesses the screened-in porch.

There are four bedrooms on the first level  and a fifth bedroom on the second floor of the home.  The master bedroom (Bedroom 1), which is located just off the living room, features a king sized bed, TV, and private bathroom. The master bathroom includes double vanity, large soaking tub, and spacious shower. The second bedroom (Bedroom 2), also located just off the living room area, contains a queen bed and private bathroom. Down the main floor hallway, you will find the third and fourth bedrooms (Bedroom 3 and 4), one containing two twin beds and the other has a queen bed. These rooms share a bathroom. The final bedroom (Bedroom 5) is located upstairs. It is the perfect room for kids or teens. It features three queen beds, a TV, and a private bathroom. 

One of the highlights of the home is the scenic screened-in porch and large open deck with a gas grill. It's the perfect outdoor area to enjoy a cup of coffee and has plenty of seating to enjoy the amazing nature all around.

We have had an amazing time with our son and daughter along with 6 of our daughters rising senior friends for Harvard class of 2025. We cannot thank you enough for your lovely home this week, it was filled with so much laughter and joy! This was our first trip to Kiawah and I certainly hope it will not be the last. I feel this home personally has a feeling of family and happiness. Thank you again for sharing your beautiful home!

Love love this house and floor plan. This was the 2 nd time we stayed in this house. Kitchen well supplied. My only complaints were oven was hard to see numbers for temperature. Air conditioner for back half of house went out the last night there. Could not be repaired that night. It is a wonderful house.

We have had very good success booking a place on Kiawah Island through Sweetgrass Properties. It has been one of our favorite weeks of the year with our family - enjoying a laid back week on the beach, riding bikes, and relaxing.

This is our second rental at 397 Green Winged Teal and it is perfect for a large family of two grandparents and two adult children's families, for a total of six adults and four children. The kitchen is well-stocked, and the bike ride or walk to the beach is just two blocks. We hope to return for many years.

We visited Kiawah to celebrate our college graduates. GWT397 was a perfect stay for our group of 10. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious, with wonderful linens and great water pressure! The living and kitchen had plenty of room for all to participate in pizza making, games and movies! The decor is nautical with bright blues and red, looking exactly as pictured. The location is amazing - 3 minute bike ride to Boardwalk 12 one way and the main bike trail the other way. Plenty of parking room for cars and bikes. Sweetgrass was prompt in answering any questions we had upon arrival. We appreciate the family opening their home to visitors, would definitely rent again and recommend.

My wife and I stayed with our three sons, their wives and our two young grand children. There was plenty of space in the large open kitchen and living room/dining area. Plus the bonus of the porch and deck area provided a quiet outdoor space. The large kitchen was well equipped for us to cook large family meals. It was a short walk to the beautiful Kiawah beach along a quiet bike path - a little far for the two-year-old but we rented a wagon to carry her which worked well. Sweetgrass Properties who manage this house were extremely responsive to our email questions and when we requested a broom to sweep the deck a man showed up with a broom and offered to use a leaf blower on the deck within 30 minutes - excellent service!

Very spacious home. Location was close to the beach. Grateful for the extra items such as dishwasher, washer and dryer detergent/fabric sheets. All of the children play items were great as well. We would stay here again. Someone contacted me regarding an ear bug set, which was great. Still in the process of retrieving that item.

The house was the best beach vacation home we’ve been in, for the 31 years we been having our annual family vacation on Kiawah Island. The living, dining, kitchen area were open, make for great together time. The kitchen was big enough for several “cooks” at one time. Best of all, was the dining table that seats ten. We do a family vacation to spend time together, not to have meals apart from each other. The bedroom set up was good, and having mirrors and hooks in the rooms is a bonus!!! Have already rent the house for next year!!

This house was just right for my family of seven's first trip to the beach. The open floor plan and wide hallways gave my three toddlers ample room to run around, and with everything except one bedroom on one floor (and that bedroom only a half flight of stairs away) my elderly parents didn't have to worry about traversing stairs until we were ready to leave the house. The only drawback was the 2/10ths of a mile walk to the beach that was a little much for my parents and my toddlers, but we made it work. We hope to be back next spring!

This is a wonderful 5-BR beach house on beautiful Kiawah Island, perfect for our week after Christmas getaway near Charleston! We've stayed in Isle of Palms, Edisto, and Mount Pleasant in the past, but this house has been our favorite so far. Very convenient for a day trip to Charleston, Beaufort or Savannah, but still lots to do on Kiawah if you want to stay close. I highly recommend the house, location, and Sweetgrass Properties!

We really enjoyed this property and the location - close to tennis, beach, market - all biking distance and easy to get to! Home was fully outfitted for everything needed and very comfortable for 3 families to share. Only recommendations we had are that for a house that size, there should be a larger refrigerator - hard to keep food and drinks cold for that many people in that fridge. In general the appliances (esp dishwasher & oven) need to be updated. Oven readout is very hard to read and change temp. Dishwasher door does not close easily. Sweetgrass brought us out a new Keurig on Day 2 and we definitely appreciated that! Great house and a lot of fun was had by all!

The house was beautifully decorated and just right for our family. My sister who rented on Seabrook Island said our house was more inviting than the one she was staying in. The rental company was experiencing difficulty with their phone system and it was somewhat frustrating to get through to them but when I did, they were responsive, polite and accommodating.

I travelled to Kiawah with 7 other women for a long weekend of top notch tennis instruction and we had perfect beach weather. The house was in beautiful condition. Everything seemed as it had been newly renovated. I took a picture of the bath towels so I could purchase the brand for myself! The kitchen was very well appointed which made cooking meals together a pleasure, including use of the outdoor gas grill. We had a minor concern with the dishwasher and received same day service to immediately fix the problem. Detailed arrival and departure instructions, as well as recommendations for beach chair rentals, all made the trip easy to organize and stress free. Thank you!

Our family loved gathering at the beautiful home on Kiawah Island! It was decorated so fun, had great space and layout, and was a just a short walk to a fantastic beach! We had such a good time together and appreciated your thinking through and meeting our needs in advance! We do need to report that a salad plate broke while we were washing it and one of our kids found the glass fish wind chime in the cupboard in the sunroom and broke a piece off of it. We would be glad to reimburse you for replacements.

We couldn't have enjoyed our time spent at Green Winged Teal anymore. The open floor plan was perfect and never felt crowded with 6 full size adults and a child. Everything was very clean when we arrived. Plenty of pillows, blankets and towels. We enjoyed morning coffee on the porch and found the grill ready to use. The bike ride to the beach took under 5 minutes and is mostly shaded.

We spent a wonderful week in this well-appointed home. It was big enough for our 2 families. The teen boys loved the "loft." The screened-in porch was so nice--we loved relaxing there in the mornings and evenings. The proximity to the beach was great. The kitchen was well-stocked, but we would have liked some larger skillets. Overall, we had an excellent, relaxing week in this beautifully-decorated home!
