One of our favorite features of the home are the four unique porches, including an expansive screened porch with hanging bed swing and dining table, an open deck overlooking the lagoon off of the primary suite, a relaxing second screened porch accessed from the upstairs guest suite, and, of course, the classic Low Country-style front porch with rocking chairs that welcomes you and your guests.

The lay-out of the main floor of the home is an open floor plan, which is preferred for creating an idyllic atmosphere for entertaining and spending time with family & friends.  The updated kitchen has modern appliances and ample cabinet and prep space, and there is a large dining table which seats 8 as well as four more bar-stools at the kitchen counter for extra guests. The comfortable family room has contemporary furnishings, a large television, and large windows that showcase the natural light and scenic lagoon views. Loved the house and its location to the beach. We spent a lot of time on the screened-in porch which overlooks a lagoon -the swinging day bed, dining table and a sitting area make this area very comfortable with great views of wildlife including egrets, heron, cormorants, turtles and the resident alligator. The home is beautifully decorated and has a well equipped kitchen with lots of space to spread out. Access to the beach is easy and is about 5 minutes by bike and less than a 10 minute walk. Only downside was a lack of anything fun to do in the house...no chess set, checkers, deck of cards and no beach toys. Trips to Vincent's Pharmacy and Island Mercantile in the Fresh Fields Village as well as the nature center at Night Heron Park (8 minute bike ride) saved the day with a nice selection of toys and activities to keep the kids entertained (I think there were televisions in every room but we never turned them on). The community pool is nearby but we did not use it. Second year renting thru Sweetgrass Properties and they have always been extremely responsive.

This was a great house. We’ve been coming to Kiawah for over 15 years and this has been one of our favorites. It’s completely updated, very well stocked, the open floor plan in the first floor was perfect for gathering, and we enjoyed watching all the wildlife in the lake all week. This house was also SO very close to the beach. Only thing we felt was missing was a second King size bed in one of the rooms. Would definitely recommend this rental!

The folks at Sweetgrass were more than helpful every step of the way. The 11 Silver Moss property had everything we needed and far exceeded our expectations. We are already planning on coming back next year and have convinced our adult children to join us.
