When the beach is calling your name, you have to answer. Planning a coast vacation is easy-breezy with Seagrass Vacation Rentals. Book your spot, pack your bags, and you’re on your way.
As for enjoying the beach once you arrive, that’s pretty simple, too. However, there are some things you can do to ensure a no-hassle, memorable vacation.
First, rent your beach gear. No need to lug chairs and umbrellas to the beach. Island Beach Services on Kiawah Island has a chair and umbrella with your name on it. Isle of Palms Beach Chair Company provides delivery and pick-up service for Isle of Palms and Wild Dunes.
Now that you’ve eliminated some items, what should you take to the beach? Great question. You don’t need much to enjoy the sun, sand, and surf. But there are a few things that are must-haves.
First, don’t forget the sunscreen. Cover yourself with it before you get to the beach, and re-apply often, especially after your swim. Getting a sunburn on the first day of vacation is not something you want to do. Rented beach umbrellas and a pop-up tent for kids' help, too. Also, sunglasses and a hat with a brim are essentials.
Next, bring water and juice. Soft drinks are great, but stay hydrated by drinking a lot of good ol’ H2O. Freeze plastic water bottles the night before your beach day, then carry them in an insulated bag. Also, have some snacks prepared to keep the family fed. Remember to put trash in proper bins and clean up your spot when you leave. Wrappers, plastic, and snack foods can be dangerous for shorebirds and sea life.
Bring your beach towels. The towels provided in our rentals are not meant for the beach, so you’ll want to pack your own.
A shovel and bucket are inexpensive expenditures that provide hours of entertainment. A pair of goggles is great, too. But kids don’t need a lot of toys. In fact, use a Solo cup to build sandcastles!
So, to recap: Traveling light to the beach can make for a much more enjoyable time. Keep it simple and safe for a memorable vacation.
