With such mild winters on the Carolina coast, it’s a great time to take your golf game to the next level. You have plenty of places to practice your swing, with five Kiawah Island courses, two at Wild Dunes Resort, and two at Seabrook. As for the best way to proceed, we have some ideas.
What’s the Goal?
First, know what you want to accomplish. Do you want to break 80? Improve your swing off the tee? Improve your putts? Write down your goals. Look back to see how far you have come.
Get the Right Fit
The proper, well-fitting equipment can make a difference. The Ocean Course Pro Shop at Kiawah Island Resort can ensure you have everything you need to play your best game.
Get Instruction
Whether a private or group class, lessons with a pro gives the proper guidance. Kiawah Island Resort, Wild Dunes and Seabrook Island all offer top instructors who can fine-tune your swing, posture, and overall technique.
Learn the Course
Whichever course you play - whether it’s the Ocean Winds Golf Course on Seabrook Island or the Turtle Point Course on Kiawah Island - you want to know how it plays. What direction are the holes played? Are you facing ocean winds or playing with them? Which tee should you play off? Do the greens run fast?
Create a Routine
Stand behind the ball and line up your shot. Visualize where you want the ball to land. Align your feet in front of the ball. Take a practice swing. Then, take the shot. There is a reason the pros do it.
Hold that Pose
Stand up straight, shoulders back. Your arms should be relaxed and straight. Hold your club at your waist. Flex your knees a little. Relax. When you swing, follow through and hold the pose.
Play More
Practice is hands down the best way to improve your game. When you vacation on the Carolina coast, our challenging courses give you plenty of opportunity to get in 18 holes.
Join a Golf Club
Do you visit Kiawah, Wild Dunes or Seabrook often? If so, join the club. If not, join your local golf club back home. Play more golf, get to know the pros, and learn the course.
Now all you have to do is book your tee time.
