Everyone knows how spectacular a sunset is on the water, but have you ever caught a sunrise? We’ve found some of the best spots around to wake up to those pink, orange and blue hues across the sky. Grab your mug of coffee and go check it out.
Kiawah Island
If you’re staying at the Kiawah Island Resort, anywhere along the beach makes a great spot to catch the sunrise. After all, Kiawah has 10 miles of sandy shoreline, and there are few things quite as stunning as the sun coming up over the Atlantic Ocean.
Wild Dunes Resort
If your vacation rental is located at Wild Dunes Resort, you’ll also find a magnificent sunrise anywhere along its beaches.
Seabrook Island
On Seabrook Island, head to the wide stretch of sand at North Beach for a beautiful morning view.
Sullivan’s Island Beach
Of course, the beach is a gorgeous place to catch a sunrise. Sullivan’s Island Beach is one of the loveliest, and least crowded, so you can enjoy those first few moments of daybreak while taking a stroll in the sand.
Top of the Bridge
Mount Pleasant has two scenic spots for starting the day. At Shem Creek, you can watch shrimp boats heading out. The boardwalk near Red’s and Vickie’s puts you in a great spot to see out over the Charleston harbor. The Pitt Street Bridge is located in Mount Pleasant’s Old Village. It once was a trolley bridge that connected Mount Pleasant and Sullivan’s Island but is now a beautiful walking bridge and fishing pier.
Sunrise Park
Why not start at a spot with the nickname of “Sunrise Park?” Located next to the James Island Yacht Club, the park’s real name is Melton Peter Demetre Park. You’ll get great views of the sun coming up.
Of course, an oceanfront rental right on the Atlantic Ocean has you waking up to picturesque views and the sounds of crashing waves. What a great way to start the day.
