Gather with your family this Thanksgiving to create a new holiday tradition. Host a Kiawah Island celebration by booking a vacation rental on this exclusive, pristine barrier island. 

Turkey Scavenger Hunt  

Kids will enjoy search for lost turkey friends from Nov. 20-25. Grab your clue sheet from the Night Heron Pool Shop or Nature Center to start the free search. Follow the clues, then bring back a completed sheet for a special Thanksgiving prize. Don’t forget a pen or pencil. 

Turkey Trot 

Call it a pre-workout for before you pile on the calories. The annual Turkey Trot one-mile and 5K run starts at 9:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day at the Sanctuary Beach Access. Kids, families, and competitive runners all enjoy the run. All participants receive a raffle ticket for a prize drawing at 10:15 a.m. This event is complimentary. No reservations are required.

Holiday Buffet

Several restaurants on Kiawah Island serve a Thanksgiving buffet. Choose from The Atlantic Room, Jasmine Porch or The Ocean Room. The Players’ Pub at Cougar Point, The Nest Market Cafe and The Lobby Bar will also be open. 

Thanksgiving-To-Go 

If you want to savor the holiday meal at your Kiawah vacation property, no problem. Choose from a delectable menu available for carry out. Order a full meal for 8-10 people, or get just the turkey – either way, the cooking is on us. Place orders online by Nov. 17. Thanksgiving Festival

Finish off Thanksgiving Day at the annual Fall Festival, set from 3 to 5 p.m. at Night Heron Park. The kids will enjoy the inflatables, pumpkin bowling, Southern lawn games, face painting, and other activities. It’s a free event, so come out and celebrate the season. 

Mingo Point Oyster Roast  

Enjoy an authentic Lowcountry experience at one of Kiawah Island’s most popular experiences. The last Mingo Point Oyster Roast & BBQ of the year takes place 4:30-6:30 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 24. Browse the stores of Freshfields Village while enjoying live music, strolling carolers and interactive performers. Get a complimentary photo made with St. Nick in Santa’s Surf Shack on the Village Green at Santa Claus will be available from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 24 & Saturday, Nov. 25 and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 26.
