When staying in your Isle of Palms vacation rental, you have options.
Walk from the beach to Ben & Jerry’s on Ocean Boulevard, with a range of funky, fun, and delicious flavors - from Cherry Garcia to Chunky Monkey to Netflix & Chilll’d. It’s a wacky wonderland of swirls, cookie chunks, nuts, and gobs of chocolate. And we’re here for it. They also offer frozen yogurt, along with dairy-free and vegan choices.
If you stay at a Wild Dunes Resort property, head to Duney’s Ice Cream Shop, which serves homemade ice cream in a beautiful spot on the Grand Pavilion. If you prefer, pick up a carton at Hudson’s Market at Wild dunes and take it back to your rental. Enjoy on your balcony or deck.

Beardcat’s Sweet Shop next to The Obstinate Daughter on Sullivan’s Island serves gelato in various flavors by the cup or as a float, sundae, or shake. They have 10 signature flavors, including all the basics like Vanilla bean, Milk Chocolate, and Pistachio. They offer another half dozen rotating choices, including Birthday Cake, Raspberry Swirl Cheesecake, and Peanut Butter Banana Chocolate Cake.
Also located on Sullivan’s Island, Republic Ice Cream & Custard uses the finest ingredients in carefully crating their old-fashioned ice cream. From their Southern Butter Pecan, Island Vanilla, Homestyle Cookies & Cream, or Cherry on Top Vanilla, Republic is passionate about their flavors. They even make their waffle cones.
Up the road in Mount Pleasant, Ye Old Fashioned Ice Cream & Sandwich Cafe serves shakes and scoops in a retro-space. Generations of beachgoers have enjoyed the shop, which opened in 1972. Order the Parlour Tin Roof Sundae with double hot fudge and pecans, or the Tropical milkshake with vanilla ice cream, pineapple, and bananas. Sip a Coke Float or Chocolate Malt.
There are more than 31 flavors at Baskin-Robbins in Mount Pleasant, so you might discover your next favorite! Remember being a kid and going nuts at the cooler? Yep, it still happens. Pink Bubblegum, Cherries Jubilee, Cotton Candy. They’re all still there, along with Chocolate Pralines, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Nutty Coconut, and more.
You can almost taste summer in the refreshing sorbets served at TCBY, located in Mount Pleasant Square. Try a Watermelon, Pink Lemonade, or Mango sorbet. Huge chunks of strawberries fill the hand-scooped strawberry frozen yogurt.
